Rockpool Jewellery uses Birmingham Assay Office for Hallmarking and we abide by UK Hallmarking requirements.

In the UK the current hallmarking requirements (as of June 2022) are as follows:

Sterling Silver:

All items of sterling silver over 7.78g must be hallmarked in the UK. The hallmark applied to sterling silver is 925 indicating 92.5% silver content with the remaining amount consisting of other metals such as copper.

Fine Silver:

As with sterling, all items over 7.78g must be hallmarked in the UK. The hallmark applied for Fine Silver is 999 indicating 99.9% silver content.

Gold:

Our gold items are usually 9ct gold and this will be specified in the individual item description. 18ct gold can be used on request. All items of gold over 1g must be hallmarked in the UK.
